CONTAMINATIONS FESTIVAL – CASTELLAMMARE DEL GOLFO

“Contaminations” is a literary festival born in 2013 from the meeting between a cultural association, (Circolo Metropolis), active in the area for years, a group of young artists and two writers, Fabio Stassi and Evelina Santangelo, romantically linked to Castellammare. All united by the belief that even in a town in the far south, known only for its beautiful coastline and post-war mafia history, it's possible to create a cultural development project for the region.

More than a project, it was a somewhat foolish gamble, but one that deeply engaged the town (which, not surprisingly, became "Città che legge") and especially the schools. Over time, this project has enriched us enormously, giving us the opportunity to meet and engage with authors such as Valerio Magrelli, Andrea Bajani, Bjorn Larson, Marcello Fois, Helena Janeczek, and Dario Ferrari (to name a few). It also allowed us to collaborate with other local festivals within the Trapani Province Festival Network and participate in the "Trame narrative" project, winner of the Cepell 2025 Call.
