In collaboration with Festival delle Orestiadi
In 1981, on the ruins of old Gibellina, before Burri's Cretto definitively transformed the landscape, Ludovico Corrao commissioned Emilio Isgrò to create a new Oresteia in “poetic Sicilian”, as a founding ritual for the rebuilt city. Forty-five years later, Isgrò returns to Gibellina with a new site-specific theatrical installation on the Cretto: a journey in which the artist's words and erasures intertwine with voices, sounds and lights, from sunset to deep darkness. The action renews the original gesture, relaunching a message of cultural rebirth in a time marked by new crises and “civilisational earthquakes”. .
